Creating your site

What? HTML?

HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the language on which web pages are based, and the language with which you will need to create your homepage. While there are a number of other languages used on the web, HTML is the foundation on which all sites are based.

Just beginning?

Unfortunately we are not able to provide you with assistance when creating your web site. However, there are a large number of web sites available which provide help with learning HTML. Two of the better introductory HTML tutorials are CNet - HTML For Beginners and Webmonkey - HTML Basics.

What do I need?

When working on your site your first option is to work directly with HTML code, using a standard text editor such as Notepad (which comes with Windows). Alternatively you can choose from a wide range of specialised HTML editors - some of which are free, and others which you need to purchase. A selection of these programs is available for download from Tucows.

Once you've created your site you will need to upload it to your web space.
